Simpson Hybrid devices are the only FIA 8858-2010 approved Head and Neck Restraints on the market that provide protection in frontal, offset and side impacts. Designed to allow easy exit from the car without the risk of becoming entangled in other kit, the device sits on the back/shoulders, not across the chest or collarbone like older HANS-type devices. They also deliver maximum comfort and manoeuvrability. An evolution of the Hybrid Pro Rage, the new Hybrid Sport improves design and technology, giving the driver an enhanced product within the same price bracket as the previous model. The Hybrid Sport is lighter, with 20% less weight for the large size, including hardware; and the DuPont carbon/polymer construction is streamlined, modern and attractive with defined wings for better harness control. The sliding tethers and the multi-tether system improve lateral range of movement and the field of view. The Hybrid Sport is SFI 38.1 and FIA certified. These M61 anchors replace the original Hans posts. Both the M61 helmet anchors and the quick-release tethers/straps are included with the M61 Quick Release option. HANS - Post Anchor: These tethers allow the driver to use the Hybrid device with helmets that already have standard HANS anchors fitted (or with the appropriate approval to fit anchors retrospectively). Approved for helmets FIA 8858-2002/FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher. The Hybrid Sport is supplied and prepped to fit existing FIA Hans posts or can be specified with optional M61 quick-release tethers/anchors. These M61 anchors replace the original Hans posts. Both the M61 helmet anchors and the quick-release tethers/straps are included with the M61 Quick Release option. M61 - Quick Release: These tethers allow the driver to quickly release the Hybrid device by pulling the cord attached to the helmet. Approved for helmets FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher.
