Venti WRC Rally - FIA 8860

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Stilo's iconic WRC helmet with fixed microphone boom, the WRC Venti has received a design update to further improve the world's most popular rally helmet. The WRC Venti 8860 is homologated to the FIA's highest standard, FIA8860-18, allowing use in all premier championships, and it also carries Snell SA2020 homologation for use in the USA. With its stunning Carbon finish, it is destined to become the most popular carbon rally helmet in the range, much like the previous Des model. The boom has been redesigned on the outside — not merely an aesthetic change but engineered to deflect the loud in-car noises produced by modern rally cars, thereby improving communication clarity for the crew. The new boom also makes it much easier to position the microphone closer to the mouth, further improving clarity by cutting out background noise. A redesigned top gives a sharper, more aggressive look while the overall profile is sleeker. The shell shape has also been altered to a slightly more angular design, which in turn adds strength to the shell. All of their carbon helmets are now produced in Stilo's own carbon factory. This facility was acquired to enable further developments that reduce weight and increase strength. A new development in the Venti's construction is Puro technology, which allows shells to be built directly out of the mould without needing paint to achieve a smooth glossy finish — ultimately saving additional weight for the wearer and improving safety in the event of a crash. As with the Des version, the Venti model comes standard with M61 HANS-palen for attaching your FHR device. The interior provides the most comfortable fit and can be customised for a bespoke fit if required, a service handled by Nicky Grist Motorsports by appointment. The fitted WRC electronics remain unchanged from the previous model — unchanged simply because there was no need to improve on what already worked so well in such a demanding environment. Another change is the new comms-port plug, positioned slightly deeper in the helmet so the main body of the intercom plug sits inside the port. This offers greater stability and protects your intercom cable, and is primarily designed for use with the new Stilo DG WL-10 wireless intercom helmet key. It has been adjusted to position the casing of the new wireless key further forward, allowing room for the M61 HANS-palen and the cable of your FHR device when used in competition. All in all, the WRC Venti's improvements ensure it remains the top choice of rally drivers worldwide, and its looks make it the best-looking open helmet on the market.
