With safety as the highest priority — especially for our competing children — Simpson has introduced the Hybrid Sport in kids' sizes. The only difference from the adult versions is that the tethers are fixed (non-adjustable), although they still slide. This feature is perfect for parents' peace of mind when children take part in Autograss, Oval Racing, etc. The Hybrid Sport for kids ships standard to fit regular FHR posts but can also be specially ordered with quick-release fittings. This modification must be specified at the time of order as it cannot be retrofitted like the adult versions. The Simpson Hybrid range of head and neck restraints is engineered to provide protection in frontal, offset and lateral impacts. With the lowest profile of comparable devices they deliver maximum comfort and mobility. Each model is available for helmets with standard FHR clips (FIA 8858-2002 or FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher) or alternatively with M61 Quick Release tethers and clips (FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher). This allows the driver to easily release the restraint by pulling the cord attached to the helmet. Common features include: - No special seat or harness required for the Hybrid to work - Comfortable to use with 2" or 3" harnesses - Units can be painted to match the colour scheme The Hybrid Sport CHild / Youth is supplied and prepared to fit existing FIA Hans posts or can be specified with optional M61 quick-release tethers/anchors. These M61 anchors replace the original Hans posts. Both the M61 helmet anchors and the quick-release tethers/straps are included with the M61 Quick Release option. HANS - Post Anchor: These tethers enable the driver to use the Hybrid device with helmets on which standard HANS anchors are already fitted (or with the correct approval to fit anchors afterwards). Approved for helmets FIA 8858-2002 / FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher. M61 - Quick Release: These tethers enable the driver to easily release the restraint by pulling the cord attached to the helmet. Approved for helmets FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher. Ideal where the helmet is frequently removed and refitted.
