Simpson Hybrid devices are the only FIA 8858-2010 approved Head and Neck Restraints on the market that provide protection in frontal, offset and lateral impacts. Designed to make exiting the car easy without the risk of getting caught on other equipment, the device sits on the back/shoulders rather than over the chest or collarbone like older HANS-style units. It also delivers maximum comfort and mobility. An evolution of the Hybrid Pro Rage, the new Hybrid Sport improves design and technology to give drivers an upgraded product within the same price band as the previous model. The Hybrid Sport is lighter — 20% less weight for the large size, hardware included — and its DuPont carbon/polymer construction is streamlined, modern and attractive, with defined wings for better harness control. Sliding tethers and the multi-tether system improve lateral range of motion and field of view. The Hybrid Sport is SFI 38.1 and FIA certified. These M61 anchors replace the original HANS posts. Both the M61 helmet anchors and the quick-release tethers/straps are included with the M61 Quick Release option. HANS - Post Anchor: These tethers allow the driver to use the Hybrid device with helmets that already have standard HANS anchors fitted (or with the appropriate approval to fit anchors aftermarket). Approved for helmets FIA 8858-2002/FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher. M61 - Quick Release: These tethers let the driver quickly release the Hybrid device by pulling the cord attached to the helmet. Approved for helmets FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher. Ideal for rallies where the helmet may be removed and refitted more often (for example between stages).
